I’m Just Happy to Be Here. - March 2022

My friend and fellow Photographer Alexis Torres posted a photo I took of her on Instagram and wrote “I’m Just Happy to Be Here”.

It was such a simple, but profound statement that I knew we could all relate with.

I asked if she would be down to take a ton of portraits of people in the community and wheat paste the phrase all over a wall in a public place.

She said “yes”.

So, we took to Instagram. Within a couple of weeks we had a spot in our local Milk District on the outside of Etoile Boutique. Their owner was kind enough to give us her space and also help to fund the project.

We set up a studio a week before the mural inside their shop. Alexis and I switched off photographing anyone who came through.

Together we photographed over 100 people!!! Then we printed them all out and with a small team wheat pasted them all along the side of the building. It was such a fun and cool community event.
